Lions Clubs Young Ambassador Competition

The Lions Young Ambassador scheme acknowledges the work of young people working as volunteers and gives them the recognition they deserve... boosting their self esteem, their confidence in themselves and highlighting the charities and volunteer groups with which they are involved. The aim of the scheme, which operates throughout Europe, is to recognise, encourage and support young people who are actively involved in the welfare of the community, supporting the best of our Lions' ideals. In previous years, candidates have been involved in helping young and older people, disabled, able bodied and disadvantaged and have organised projects in conservation, crime prevention, promoting healthier lifestyles, hospital radio and other initiatives. Our Club is looking for young people in our community who work selflessly for the benefit of others. If anyone knows of such a person, we would like to nominate him or her as a candidate for the title of District, National and European Young Ambassador. The age qualification for nomination is that the person has to have reached the age of 15 but not 19 on 30th June.
